Ok so now that I've gone out and bought the fancy pants grow light two of my tomato seedlings keeled over today.  I think it is damping off.  They are all in attached peat pots.  Do I need to throw them all out?  Or hope for the best?  I'm such a newbie here...

There are lots of dangers for young seedlings - damping off is definitely one of them.   I am going to point you to my favorite web site for seed starting basics.   It really does a super job of covering the process from beginning to end and has a great section on what might go wrong and why.    I keep this site book marked in my favorites because it has been such a good resource over the years.    I would encourage you to check it out and see if you can determine what is happening with your specific seedling situation.   Here's the site
