My tomatoes are growing a lot. My dad used to clip the tops off the tomatoe vines so the "energy" would go to forming the fruit. I have already pinched off most of the suckers but the plant seems to be growing very tall and I was wondering what you all thought of clipping the plant after the last blossoms on the branch?

Thanks!!

I just talked about this very thing in my blog post this evening!    I do it all the time on the indeterminate because I want the plants to shift energy from vine and leaf production to finishing up the formation and ripening of fruit.    When I was gardening in central Washington state where the summers are longer and hotter, I never did that but here it is a good practice because the fall rains arrive pretty quickly and our window for fruit set and ripening is so short.
