I am preparing to add some PVC hoops under the garden bed for the winter.  I figure if I get them in now, I will have an easier time bending the PVC into place.  I know once it gets cold, plastic does not like to bend (it tends to shatter).

I am trying to decide how far apart to place these hoops.  I am in Texas with virtually zero percentage chance of snow, but lots of freezing rain.

I am just not sure how far apart to put them to support a plastc sheets against the freezing rain.

Any guidance would be greatly appreicated!!

My hoops are generally spaced 4 feet apart.   During snow events the plastic sags but then I just brush it off and it springs back in place.   Freezing rain would be much the same but would be harder to "brush off".   I think it would work okay though.
