Thanks for the post on your potato beds. Very helpful as I plan my winter projects.

Just began reading about potato towers recently. Has anyone here tried those, by chance? Would love to hear an efficiency comparison of towers versus raised beds.

Hopefully Sinfonian will find his way here to this post!   His site is down or I would provide a link to his potato bin (tower) page which was very interesting and well designed.   I know that Dan also uses  the same system as well - as well as several other folks.

I have grown potatoes in bins and containers, adding dirt and compost as it grew but have never used the build as you grow towers that others use.   My personal experience was basically the same productivity as I got out of a comparable amount of space in a bed.   I think it can improve though with the selection of the right kind of potato variety (long season).

Hopefully, others will join in and share their experiences with you!
