Video - Late Summer Garden Tour (Wrapping It Up)

Posted on August 26, 2011 at 8:50 AM

Last Sunday, I made a series of five videos that collectively provide a full tour of my garden.   I have been posting these one per day all week and today (Friday) is the final short segment.

Well it was a fabulous tour and a great way to really show off all of your garden, thank you for taking the time to share this series of videos. It will be interesting to see how your artichokes over winter, they should do fine in zone 7 and and above from what I have read. Apparently there are also annual artichokes that will produce heads in their first year...perhaps I should look into growing one of the annual varieties.

Mike - My understanding with the artichokes is that the same varieties that overwinter can be forced into producing an annual crop - if you can get them started early enough and if they get the required chill period to induce bud production. I am hoping I can manage to get these plants settled without killing them in the transplanting process and get a nice bed of perennial artichokes established. Wish me luck!

kathy - Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it.
