Those potatoes look just fabulous. I don't think I even eat that many potatoes in a year, but if I had them I would try.

The potatoes are beautiful. We eat a lot of them as well. Root veggies are a big hit at my house. I can't wait to see the cranberries when they start to take off. If I only had the space.

Wow! Your potatoes really took off! I hope they produce well for you. Looking forward to the rest of the video tour.

Daphne, Hsheather, and GrafixMuse - Thanks for the nice compliments on the potato patch. Since you commented, the connection/linking problem I was having originally with You Tube resolved itself and I was able to update this post with the remainder of the tour. I hope you can take the rest of the cyber tour and see the rest of the garden too.

Great garden tour! Considering all the rain and cold weather you've (we've) had, it's looking really healthy.

This is gonna sound awful but I'm saving watching your videos until tomorrow when I head back to work. It will make for some good watching when I have a break during the day. Most blogs (except yours for some reason) gets blocked on my computer at work. I will admit, I go through a bit of blogging withdrawal during the day!

Your space never ceases to amaze me. It's huge and so wonderfully organized. Looking fab. Thanks for the tour !

Annie's Granny - I am getting a little anxious about the forecast for Wednesday. Possible 2 to 3 inches of rain for the Olympic peninsula (right across the Hood Canal from us). That is a serious amount of rain forecasted on top of the soakings we have already received. I hope we are spared the large majority of it.

Thomas - I hope you enjoy the break (and garden tour!).

miss m - With my daughter heading off to College later this summer, I am finally starting to feel like I have "enough" garden space. It does provide 100% of our vegetable need for three people currently, but with the household going down to two people we can afford to use more of the garden space for items like dried beans.

What a fantastic treat. I keep forgetting to come and look at your blog. How do you keep the soil so full in your beds? It's so gorgeous. I know what you mean about the rain -- it certainly slowed things down here, but we're in for hot weather next week. Who knows?

Your vast space makes me long for more yard!

Everything looks really lush. The potato bed is a thing of beauty! The CP tomato should perform well. Last season was wet/cold and they produced lots of tomatoes.

Love the videos! Your garden is growing like crazy :-) I love the posts (I think maybe they are 4'x4') that you used. Those raised beds will be around for a very long time.

Stefaneener - The soil in the beds is aerated with a broadfork once a year which adds a lot of volume that otherwise would be lost to compaction. In addtiion, I add alot of compost and/or turn over green manure cover crops each year which constantly replenishes the soil and again keeps the beds fairly full. I hope some of your "hot" next week translates into some "warm and dry" here!

Dan - Glad to hear that about the Cherokee Purples. I am getting increasingly concerned about what all this rain and cold is doing to my outside tomato crop.

Judy - With our wet conditions those bigger timbers are a much more logical option for edging beds. My older beds are four years old now and have the thinner boards and they are starting to rot out . I am hoping to get another two years out of them but they will have to be replaced eventually.

As I look out the window and type this it is once again raining, it would appear that you are stuck under the same vast rain clouds as us this spring. I really enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing it with all of us..your tomatoes are looking great. Everytime I see a volunteer potato it makes me wonder if I could get away with simply planting them as we do garlic...in the fall. Can't wait to see the pie cherry bushes produce for you.:) Love the chicken house and run! Lucky birds. I hope it warms up soon...

I LOVED the videos! What a great overview of everything in the garden. It's apparent that you've put in a great deal of work into your garden.

I like seeing what is doing well (and what is not doing well) in other parts of the country. I can't seem to get a decent bed of beans sown (germination has been awful across the board) but you seem to be having much better luck. Hopefully your rains will let up soon. We've been fortunate to have a pretty warm and dry spring this year.

I think I'll follow your lead and find a shady area of the garden to plant some summer lettuce. We're going through what we have pretty quickly!

Mike - I have often thought about the overwintered potato patch too. It would be so much easier to just do a double dug bed and plant the potatoes late in the fall and then just leave them there over winter rather than storing the seed potatoes. Maybe I will be brave and just try that on a small bed this fall and see what happens.

Thomas - I am glad you enjoyed the videos. It takes alot of video time to cover the whole garden so I don't do them often - but once in a while I think it is a nice way to give a broader context of how things lay out in the garden. My beans have been germinating well so far this year, but the pole beans are being reluctant and I may need to reseed some of them. The runner beans have yet to appear but they were just planted a short while ago.

Wow Laura! I love seeing the entire space and holy potatoes! I was excited to get 6 coffee bags going this year but not at all enough for us year round. This rain has all but destroyed all my cucumbers and the slugs are eating my corn. The forecast is even more depressing than May since I don't see much sun in sight other than this afternoon when it's actually too hot for me to be doing anything since I couldn't start before 1. I hope you managed to get lots done today and that you had the same sunshine. Thanks for all the time you put into those videos! And some lovely seeds from Dan. What a guy!

I'm so glad I finally had time to watch your videos. What an awesome garden! :) It's got to be so frustrating to have the cool, soggy weather you've been having. I can't wait to see how many potatoes you get! Thanks for showing us around your garden!

Sustainable Eats - Glad you enjoyed the videos. I DID get outside (alot!) today and came online for the purpose of posting a blog post recapping the lovely day. I know what you mean about the depressing forecasts though. I am really wishing summer would arrive and stay for a while.

Becky - I love to share my garden with friends. :D
